I have problems installing the updated version of HTC Sync Software. I am thinking that the possible reason for this is because the software Adobe Air is having conflicts in the installation. I got an error “This application requires a version of Adobe AIR which cannot be found.” I downloaded the newest version of Adobe AIR but still received an error on installing it. The error says “An error occurred during installation. . . An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR, Installation may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your administrator.” I am the only one who uses this computer. What is causing this? Please help.
Adobe AIR Install/Uninstall Error Message – Administrator privileges
That error is known to be caused by the Logitech Video driver (LVPrcSrv.exe) and also the installation of the runtime. In case the application has been loaded, you will need to end the process by using the Windows Task Manager.
You will also need to check Adobe in case they have got Adobe AIR uninstaller to use it for uninstallation, or try doing the following to install Adobe AIR:
-
You will need to make a shortcut of the Adobe AIR installer executable.
-
And then you will right-click the executable file, and then go to properties, and click on the "shortcut" tab.
-
After that, locate the "Target" field, and then add "-uninstall" without the quotes to the end of the existing text.
-
And thereafter run the file, and see if Adobe AIR will be uninstalled this time round.
-
Once you have done that, you can now run the original installer file to install the program.
