Do I need to have a user AD account for the SharePoint to access on it? Can I change the set up on the SharePoint? What will the data or direction to point the SSAS cube? It is my pleasure to know the right direction on the process? Thanks

AD account through the SharePoint access

Analyn,

Before anyone else can access  the cube, necessary permissions need to be assigned to them by you. Access permissions can only be granted to users that are assigned with Active Directory's integrated security. Those who would require access to the SSAS cube must have an Active Directory account. Create an Active Directory group and configure the permissions for the members of the group, and assign a unique name to the AD group to be readily recognized when pointed to.

After the Active Directory Group creation,Configure the cube to point to the AD group. Create a new project in BIDS > right-click Roles folder > click New Role. You can change the name of role to your preference. Click on Membership Tab > click Add > point to the Active Directory group to add to the role.Click the Cube tab > Click Access > select Read in the drop-down list.

Normally this is the only step you would need to perform. After the Cube deployment, everyone assigned in the Active Directory group can access the cube through your preferred tool or portal.

Happy Computing,
