I have two external Hard Drives running on my computer. ANGEL(G:) and STEALTH(H:). I want to change its access permissions to read-only settings, automatically, every time I plug this to any computer. My files inside are very important and I don’t want anybody to re-write on it specially the documents.

To make your external HD to read-only, you can do follow these steps:

For the most simplest way, connect your HDD to the PC, then open Computer/My Computer. Find your disk drive ; then right click it to select Properties. Check Read-only option, then click Apply.

To make your HDD secure and read-only : You should login as Administrator. Right click on the external drive in Computer/My Computer, select Properties, select Security/Advanced, restrict another user from accessing, reading and modifying, except you.

You can use this method to restrict file or folder too.
