Huawei releases it is its first-party operating system the “HarmonyOS” which promises to revolutionize the 21st-century world of technology but what are the new features which make it unique from the already existing operating systems?
Huawei Developer Conference, the company’s Consumer Business Group CEO Richard Yu unveiled Huawei’s long-rumored Android alternative, “HarmonyOS” which he says is faster and safer than Android. Yu revealed that HarmonyOS is “microkernel-based”. The platform developed by the company is open source and can be used on multiple devices at once.
With a microkernel design, HarmonyOS, as the company claims, is safer from the rest of its contemporaries. In addition to being a lightweight system, Huawei claims that HarmonyOS will offer some performance boosts than the Android. The HarmonyOS will initially be implemented on smart display products, like television, computers, wearables, in-car head units, speakers and VR glasses, excluding smartphones.
