Clicking on a Quick Launch icon in Windows Vista would always launch a new instance of that app, even if one instance was already running. But in Windows 7, clicking on an icon you have pinned to the taskbar doesn't do this.

Can I replicate the Vista functionality ?

I have installed Windows Server 2008 in my brand new server (HP, Quad Core). The installation was successful. I also installed SP1 after the new installation. When I launch the SP1 update, installation fails with error 0x800f0818 during the process. 

When I checked the log in c:windowslogsCBS, I found the CBS.log, with the following errors :

Failed to internally open package. [HRESULT = 0x800f0818 – CBS_E_IDENTITY_MISMATCH]

Yesterday i was working on my pc it was working fine but then suddenly my computer restarted. I received an ERROR:window corrupted.

After that i tried many times to start my computer but  again and again i received that same message.

I cannot format my computer as i have very important data inside Can any body help me through this.?

I have a question in my mind can anybody help me? My question is what can be any five services of an operating system? How each provides convenience to users. In which cases it would be possible for user-level programs to provide these services?

What does ERROR_DIR_EFS_DISALLOWED6010 (0x177A) mean? It pops up when i open up pc, is this something i should worry about? I'm starting to be concerned since i don't know much. I am not that tech savvy on these things but i am willing to fix this myself if necessary. Hope i get more feedback on the matter.

Has anyone come across an error message with Visual Studio 2005? This sounds a little typical for me since I am just trying to save it and I get an error message

“Please ensure there is a file path associated for this document”

I haven’t come across this error message before. I have it installed on my Win XP SP 3 machine.

I do have that file path specified and perplexed to know why this error message pops up.

I have tried to d a research in web and don’t seem to find anything related to this error message.

Any suggestions?

I was ripping some of my favorite movies having different extensions into DVDs using DVDFab Platinum 4. As I was working on it an error occurred which was

I re-installed this software but the same error occurred. I then recently upgraded it to version 5 beta thinking that the problem will definitely be solved but, I still have this error message. Anyone have any suggestions, please?

I installed this software to make a complete backup of my DVD movie “The Transformers” with version 0.16. I ripped my DVD with DVDDecrypter and selected to copy complete DVD in this software.

Now when it starts to copy the menus etc, the following error message is displayed
