Networking

Having wireless network at home is an advantage, because of the connection sharing made possible by WiFi.

However, consistency is somewhat a question.

Connection may be good for weeks or even months but suddenly it just drops or no connection at all.

Is there anyway where consistency is maintained in this kind of service?

I know that, now a days, homes, corporate intranet, and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) use proxy servers. Proxy serves as the bridge between the two ends of a client/server network connection.

What are the key features that proxy servers use in order to do their jobs? Is there any key function that proxy servers provide?

Three weeks ago, I applied for an internet subscription. Now, I have no internet connectivity though the Modem seems to be working properly.

I called the internet provider, but they said my internet is working properly.

What do you think i should do to check if the problem of my connection is in Hardware or Software.

Hi,

I have a few machines at home with either Windows XP or Windows 7 installed. We usually share files that are in each of our computers. However, our Windows XP machines can't see or can't communicate with the Windows 7 machines.

Is there anything I should check with the setup?

Thanks.

A good friend deceived me. I entrusted him my account in email including the password and all the details for some help in my account. But later on, I realized that he changed some settings in my account that gives him access to interlink his email to another address in a way that whenever I send a mail to anyone, he will receive a duplicate copy of it that will be delivered in his email address.  Believe me because I have enough proof and this is not a joke. Now, what I want to know is how did he do it and what settings did he changed in my account that leads to this. And lastly, how I can revert my settings back to its original and default settings so I can be able to fix this dilemma.
