Networking

Hello,

My Windows Server 2003 machine added as a node in my current network but not as a root. When I try to install Active Directory while working on my existing domain network, I forced to get out from the network.

Please help me how to install Active Directory. Thanks a lot.

My client apparently had this problem of people accidentally deleting some shared files on the server, so I had setup for him a security auditing feature which actually enabled tracing and logging of whatever activities done to the specified folders, sub-folders and files.

Now, my problem is since this will trace every activity done, the events log file size gets bigger and it becomes almost unmanageable. I was wondering, does anybody here know of any third party application that could help manage the logs, perhaps even just one that could retrieve only deletion activities so it's easier to trace?

Or if there's any suggestion and idea how else to manage this, it would be a great help too.

I am currently setting out to familiarize the Server environment and trying to get some small business clients to serve. So I would need to install a trial version copy of Server 2003 into my Virtual Machine to get this done and know the works. Can anybody help to advise where I could get the software?

I am just interested in a trial version as I do not wish to be violating and Microsoft license laws. I already tried all sorts of websites but haven't come across one that could allow me to download it. Would be very helpful if any one of you could direct me to one source.

Greatly appreciate your help.

Hi

Everyone! Hoping to have some suggestions to solve my problems regarding the Bluetooth drivers on Dreamplug. It seems they are not working as expected. On an Intel Ubuntu linux, when I use the command-line obexftp client, everything works fine. But this is not the same for Dreamplug. Could the problem be with the bluetooth drivers not being compatible with Dreamplug?

Another thing, I was hoping somebody can answer these too:

1) Is the "btmrvl_sdio.ko" extension the code to get to the BT hardware? If not, can you tell me what it is? Like what file is it or where it is located?

Hi Guys.

I need your help and I'm not sure if this is the right category or I should go to hardware. You see, I have this 1GB home network, setup with router, switches and NICs. So far, my fastest data transfer to another computer was at 60megabytes per second and it occurred only quite quickly.

Rough estimate would be at about 480-600Mbit/s.

Do I need faster and bigger hard drives for this? Or is RAID a solution? Honestly, I have no idea yet about RAID though. Or are there any other options I should try out? From what I know regarding the laws of the IT world, 1000Mbit/s = 128megabytes per second.

Hi.

My problem is quite a tough one so I am seeking for advices from those hard-core and experienced networking professionals. This is regarding the situation in our office, where the networking setup can be labeled as "Advanced Networking".

My client once sold his business and has now gotten it back under his control. They want the office network layout to be setup back to their original one and totally take down the current one. There are about 7 offices in the area which would soon be occupied by different "tenants".
