This comes as a good news to all the people who have invested their money in Sony xperia smartphones as the company has just recently announced that it plans to upgrade their cell phones to the new android marshmallow 6.0. Sony announced that it will make this new much awaited operating system available to 14 of its xperia device range.
The devices which are said to get the upgrade are the ones in line for the release and the high end flagships of the company which have already been released. Those of you who are owning the midrange xperia devices, no need to worry as I’m pretty sure Sony has a trick or two for you guys also. The android M update might come for the mid-range segment smartphones also but a little later than the big boys.
The update of the operating system was announced just after the google nexus devices came out with the new android marshmallow 6.0 operating system.
According to the vice president of google, android marshmallow is the sweetest and the most intelligent android version to date. ). With the update to the new android the user experience of the phone is said to improve considerably as the marshmallow features Google Now on tap and an improved ram manager. Android marshmallow’s most exciting thing is the power save option which google has decided to call the DOZE. What this doze option does is that when your device is resting / not being used, the device is put into sleep mode automatically which means lesser battery use when you sleep and more battery is available in the morning when you wake up. The doze option also ensures that if by chance you go to sleep while your phone is running low on juice, the phone will simply just power off, so that does definitely make the alarm go off in the morning, waking you up just in time.
Android marshmallow also lets you secure your devices much better and set your priorities for specific applications. You can also manage application permissions and security.
We still however don’t know when the update will be released as Sony claims it to vary from market to market. Sony states that they have been working hard to bring out this major update across most of their devices and that they are really excited as to the new improvements and functionality that have come along with the new android marshmallow which will end up giving the user a good and smooth experience of android.
All we can say at this point is that this is really great news for Sony handset owners as they will get to experience the new and improved android marshmallow 6.0
