I recently updated from windows XP to Windows Vista after I moved into my new home. Back in my old home I had a wireless service and am trying to install one right now in my new home so I am using my LAN cable to connect my laptop to the router. Now the problem I have is that the firewall in my new Windows Vista won’t start and it gives me the same message whenever I start it saying,

“Windows cannot start the firewall service”.

I recently am getting Windows pop ups that say, “Microsoft Windows Search Protocol Host stopped working and was closed”.

Now to correct the issue I started searching the internet and the only solution that I could find was to go to the control panel and uninstall the application. So I did exactly as it told me, even though I have never installed that application but to no surprise I can’t find it in the uninstall programs area too since I never installed it in the first place. Any idea why I am getting these messages then? Please answer if anyone knows...

I am getting error messages from like two days ago. When I try to open folders inside my C: drive the windows gives me this:

Window #1:

Windows Explorer has stopped working.

Windows is searching for a solution.

Then it stays there for a while thus forcing me to click cancel, upon clicking cancel a window pops up saying.

Window #2:

Windows Explorer is restarting.

I checked my PC for viruses and malware etc with 2 freeware programs and my Norton antivirus but that didn’t help at all. Please help in any way possible as I can’t afford to pay to fix this.

My problem concerns Google earth 6. It is creating a lot of issues for me as it is eating up my memory. I can clearly see in the task manager that the memory increases gradually as I start it and in the end my computer wont even move the mouse till I restart my computer.

I recently bought a new transceiver for my Microsoft Wireless Notebook Presenter Mouse 8000 since I damaged the original one. Problem is that I don’t know how do I pair the new transceiver with my mouse now. The transceiver has a Bluetooth button at the bottom which makes the light to turn red/green, other than that info I have no idea as to what the light does or what it indicates.

I am using Windows Vista and it comes with the preinstalled Windows Defender. Now my problem is that when I click on the Windows Defender a window pops up and says “Application failed to Initialize”.

I amusing Windows Vista Home Basic and my problem is that windows gives me an error every time.

I try to copy files from my computer to my external western digital 1TB drive.

It says,

(Error 0x8007045D: the request could not be performed because of an I/O device error).
