I had recently purchased a laptop running windows XP. I moved all of my data from my old Pentium ii to this laptop. I am very found of playing International Rally championship, but unfortunately this game is not going to run on Windows XP.

Whenever I try to install / run it on my laptop it gives an error saying

Hi guys,

My computer is infected by a virus, that is eating up all my empty hard disk space. It is very surprising that my Antivirus application is not able to remove this virus. 

The virus is detected, but cannot be removed. This virus is called the newfolder.exe virus

I did some research online, as to how to remove this virus since my Antivirus software cannot remove it. 

I found some tools to remove it automatically, but I think that I am doing something wrong because it is not being removed.

I am an architect and I purchased a version of ArchiCAD after a lot of trials at my home.

Now when I tried to install that on my office computer, I was shocked to see the error which states that:

I currently have Microsoft Office 2007 installed on my personal computer. I recently purchased Microsoft Office 2010 and tried installing it on my personal computer ,but was unable to complete the installation.

I get the following error message during the installation.

"Error 1406. Setup cannot write the value to the registry key."

Then the installation is canceled. Does anyone know what this error message means. I did uninstall Microsoft Office 2007 on my computer ,so there should be no conflicting registry entries. 

I tried the installation several times using several installation medias, but still get the same error message.

I am the local administrator of a computer on which Windows XP Professional is installed. I have several applications installed.

When i try to set up some of these applications, i get an error message which states that, the windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file and that i might not have appropriate permission to access the application.

As i said earlier, I am the only administrator on this computer and do not understand how i do not have permission to access these applications.

Every time when i start up my computer ,I get a quick flash with an error message. The error message is as follows:

"Catalyst Control Center Monitor not responding"

I am not sure if this is the exact message, since i mentioned earlier that the message quickly flashes. I recently had a problem with my laptop which has Windows 7 Home Edition installed on it. At that point I needed to log onto my system using the local administrator account. That is when i discovered that the local administrator account is disabled. I could not understand why. This is not the case with Windows XP Professional. I looked for the option to manage the local accounts ,but could not find that option.
