Desktop folders and applications disappear

I was using my computer yesterday, for surfing the Internet. I encountered errors and pop-ups. I just closed them all, using right click on the task tray, then clicking the close button. After closing them all, I have shutdown my computer. I have noticed today after opening my computer, that all applications and folders in my desktop are all gone. What happened?

How can I restore them all, I have important files saved on desktop. Please help.

Could not print PVC ID on WinCard installed in windows 7

Recently, I have upgraded my Microsoft Windows XP to Microsoft Windows 7 home edition.

I use to print PVC ID on WinCard installed on Microsoft Windows XP.

It works fine, and no issue encountered.

After installing Windows 7, the issue starts then.

Do need to go back to Windows XP or there is a solution for this.

Hi All,

Visual Basic Code printing bold text direct on the printer.

I am using the Open file command in visual basic to print text direct on the printer.

Here’s the sample code

Open “LPT1” for output as #1

            Print #1, “This was sent to printer”

Close #1

The program works but I want it in bold. I am using EPSON LX-300 dot matrix printer.

Please help! I need this to print a receipt.

I don’t want to use the printer control.

Is it possible to print on LPT2 with printer Connected COM Port?

I have a POS system running in command prompt which is using the LPT1 to print the original copy of a receipt and LPT2 to print the duplicate of the receipt.

Now, I have a computer with LPT1 and COM2 port. LPT2 is not present, but I am able to connect my printer to COM2 in replacement of the LPT2. How should I reroute the print job in LPT2 going to COM2. Is it possible?

Sorting of directory listing in Command Prompt.

I am using the Command Prompt to display the list of my files in Windows Explorer is vulnerable to MALWARE.

What I want to happen is to display my direct listing in descending order without adding the parameter /O-D.

I want to just type the command DIR, and it will automatically display the file listing into descending order.

Please help.

Clipper Program Terminates when printing reports in Windows 7

I am currently maintaining the clipper program which is running under the DOS Interface.

Before we are using Windows98 and the system was installed before I was employed in this company.

The programs work fine until before we upgrade our computers and migrate to Windows 7 operating system. 

The program still running but in some parts like creating of reports, the program terminates itself and return to DOS prompt.

Anyone here knows how to solve the issue?

I was using 7zip for a long time already. Until then it's my first time to encounter a problem with it. While I was compressing a file, I encountered an error that shows:

An event was unable to invoke any of the subscribers.

First thing I did is to restart my computer. I also disabled 7zip and installed it again and changed the file association, but still same error showed up. Please give a little help with this.

An error appears every time I turned on my computer, it stated as; HAL.DLL Corrupted. This problem enables me to boot inside the operating system. I tried the Operating disk to run a repair it but still it doesn't work.

 Also, I've updated the BIOS, still no changes. I need some help about my problem.

My friends please let me know if you can handle this error.

I was doing some research on a project by visiting some sites via Firefox. In the mean while I encountered this error that firefox.exe file was terminated.

I tried to debug it but couldn’t succeed as it does some self test process in the debug process and then shuts down the Firefox browser without any warning and then again when I browse the explorer I receive the same error again.

Firefox.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for  the inconvenience.

Hi fellows I need some help here actually the error I am facing is out of my knowledge, I don’t know hwy this error occurred and what troubleshooting should be done to rectify it.

I am looking for an expert’s opinion to solve this error problem for me.
