I want to take only the date part of passed date time string.

Example:

If I pass '8/16/2011 12:47:01.698187 AM -4.00 AM' . I only require '8/16/2011' from the following query:

select trunc(''8/16/2011 12:47:01.698187 AM -4.00 AM') from dual;

But it is throwing an error: ORA 01722- invalid number .

Can you please correct the query?

When I am attempting to open one of my ACT database I receive an error message. I have been using the same database from past few months without any issues. The database is stored in one of my external drive.

What could have gone wrong? Can anyone explain why I am getting the error message and how can I get a solution for the same?

Here I am trying to install the VMware ThinApp version of office 2007 on one of my Windows XP machine and it throws an error message.

I know for sure office was captured on a completely clean machine. And I myself have tried and checked that the individual files work.

I have been receiving an error, that the user does not exist in my SharePoint server. I found that this error comes up, if the user is not a member of a domain.

I made sure that the user is a part of the domain and the user is able to access everything in domain. I have tried using another username but the same error pop’s up.

Can someone tell what the reason behind these error messages is?

This time I have an issue with my Microsoft Groove software. I keep getting error messages that it could not load the file type.

I have been trying to create a new Outlook profile, on my Microsoft Outlook 2010. This is installed on my Windows Vista machine. I already have a profile created and that works fine. After my attempt to create a new profile on the same machine, I have been getting an error message with Outlook.

Does Windows XP have an option to execute windows after taking thumb impression of user instead of password?. I mean to say that, system should not be started without the thumb impression of the user. Does this option available in Windows XP? If it exists what will be method to obtain this facility.

I cannot properly connect a projector to my laptop. Individually the laptop and the projector is good condition. I checked two device separately with other laptop and projector. That time its’ are ok. But when my laptop is connected with my projector its not perform ok.

I am having issues with Microsoft Expression. Expression 4 web, is not launching how many ever different ways I try to launch it.

I have so many different steps to resolve the issue but in vain. I have already uninstalled the following EW4, .net framework and the encoder package but nothing much changed.

I want to know if something could be done before I wipe out the complete set up.
