I know that Microsoft is used in many computer systems around the world.  I myself have been using it since I can remember.  My question is, if I were to try another OS, what would be out there for me?  Any guys here users of other OS?  Do you like them better than Microsoft OS?  Why?

I am interested in learning VBA.  

I've been using macros for a while now in Excel, but I don't know how to edit macros in the VBA window.  

Is this kind of programming something that I should learn in order to advance in using macros with Excel?  

I am an IT student and thinking of taking up COBOL programming.  Is this something that I should look into? What are the practical uses of COBOL?  Is it still in use today?

I am using Windows Vista in my system. The taskbar hides automatically every time when I run a browser in full screen mode. But when there is no browser opened or not in full screen mode the taskbar does not hide. Can you please help me to solve this?
