Encountered Internal Error. 2356 with McAfee Antivirus

I was installing McAfee VirusScan on our computers in the office but then randomly I got this error message, see screenshot below from one of the PCs.  

I was able to install to the other PCs but not this last one.  

Well, all of them have the same Win XP OS. 

Does anyone here have a take on this? 

Hope you can provide a solution. 

Please help.

Encountered Internal Error. 2356 with McAfee Antivirus

That is an internal error encountered by the setup wizard while doing the installation.

Maybe there is already an error in the operating system happening in the background and when you did the installation for McAfee VirusScan, the setup wizard hit that error resulting in an internal error in the whole operation of the installation.

If the workstation where you are installing McAfee VirusScan has a previous antivirus installed on it, be sure that it was properly uninstalled before doing another installation of an antivirus. An incomplete removal of an application usually results in complications in doing future application installations.

If you have a disk utility installed on the computer, use it to check the computer’s hard drive for errors in the file structures or in the free space. A cross-linked file error causes some programs to function differently and some installations to fail. Use Windows disk check if you don’t have any disk utility application installed.

1. Right click on drive C and then select Properties.
2. Click Tools tab.
3. Click Check Now.
4. Check Automatically fix file system errors and then hit Start.

Restart the installation after the disk check.
