Beeping sound heard as the computer loads

The Specs of my computer are 1.1 AGhz Celeron, 128 MB RAM and 40 GB Hard disk with Windows XP Pro. Sometimes, when I turn it on, while it is still loading, I would hear some BEEPS, some beeping sounds which would last from 30 to 60 seconds. The beeping sound would persist unless I would restart my computer. I don’t know what causes the BEEPS. Is it a software clash or is it a hardware defect? Please help me analyze this problem and kindly give me some solution for it. Thank you so much.

Hi Aellani, I have some suggestion and explanation and i hope it will guide you to answer you problem. Regarding your question as you don't know what is the causes of the beeps i have here some beeps code. NO BEEP it means that no power and the peripherals are loose it the CPU/MB are Bad. ONE BEEP it means that you computer are running in normal and fine. TWO BEEPS it means that your CMOS/POST has an error. ONE SHORT AND ONE LONG BEEP it means that your motherboard have problem. ONE LONG and TWO SHORT BEEP it means that your VIDEO have problem. ONE LONG AND THREE SHORT BEEP your video also have problem. THREE LONG BEEPS your keyboard have error. REPEATED LONG BEEPS your memory has an error. CONTINUES HI-LO BEEPS your CPU is overheating. I advice also to get some help and advice in technician for some suggestion if there is device to be repair in your computer.

Hallo Aellani,

The beeping sound may be a warning that your computer is overheating, and therefore you should check the temperature settings. Check the software that monitors the BIOS and see what report it gives. If the temperature of the system shows to be too high, you will need to clean your system off any dust.

Also check the cables inside the system unit and ensure that they are not crisscrossing near the fan and therefore blocking it from circulating so as to cool the system. Also check if the fan is full of dirt and clean it.

Another possible cause may be that the sound or audio card has been place too close to a noisy RFI source. You can just try moving the mouse around faster and if that causes the beep to increase then the audio setting is very high and therefore reduce it.
