Laptop keyboard failed how to fix it?

Hi,

I'm using a Compaq laptop and i spilled tea on the keyboard an it was replaced with the original. But now, the performance of the laptop is a bit slow. Is there any hardware reason for this?

Hello there,

It’s possible that your laptop is slower after the incident. Especially if the was hot. Because it is in liquid shape, it is possible for water to go through tiny holes between the keyboard and damage the hardware stuff in computer, like motherboard, or ROM memory, or RAM memory, or graphic card, or hard drive.

That is why you should not drink near the laptop Now, the damage is done (so I guess I’ll be leaving lol), the best thing for you is to take laptop to the authorized seller so they can have a look at him for some hardware mistakes.

If you spilled water on the computer and it became slow right after it may not only be the keyboard that was damaged by also the other components of your computer like the motherboard, memory and the rest of the circuitry. It may also be possible that you have software corruption therefore the computer becomes slower now because of that.

Try running a hardware diagnostics scan on your system to verify this and try running a software scan as well to make sure everything is up and running well. If the diagnostics gives you results, you should have a better idea of the problem.
