Hi friends,

I am having a big trouble with my PC. I am seeking for some help from here. My PC is not booting at the same time while I am pressing the CPU power button. It begins to start approximately after 20 minutes. What a peculiar problem it is. Moreover, sometimes it hangs on the first screen (boot time).

To get rid of this problem I opened the CPU and changed the CMOS battery. But I found nothing special. Then I changed my ID cables and power supply. No change. I did not know where the problem was. Please anybody help me in this regard. I will be very pleased after getting the solution. My computer's configuration is (Processor 2.26, Gigabyte 81845GE-RZ motherboard, 256 MB Ram, 80 GB hard disk).

You can try this procedure to check your computer problem. Check your hardware. Clean your memory, video graphic adaptor and all the slots on your motherboard. Try using a new paint brush or the one that never used before.

If you have a vacuum cleaner with blower mode try to use it. Remove all the parts that attached to your computer motherboard, and blow away the dust using the vacuum cleaner with blower or any machine that can produce air pressure but make sure that it doesn’t emit water cause it will ruin your motherboard.

Clean the slot connector of your memory and video card and after you clean it put it back to their corresponding slots. Try to boot your computer. If cleaning doesn’t give you a good result, try to change your memory. If your computer boot after changing the memory it means that your memory is not good or damage.

Check if your motherboard if it has built in video card. You can check it by looking at the back of your system unit, check where your VGA cable attached, remove the VGA cable from the back of your computer and check for the same VGA outlet.

Remove your video card that you are using, change the connection of your VGA cable to your motherboard built in video card. Try to boot your computer using the built in video card from your motherboard. This procedure will check if your computer will boot normally without a hard disk drive (HDD). Having damage hard disk drive can cause the start up boot to stop or delay. Remove the power cable and IDE or SATA cable to your HDD.

If your computer boot normally without the HDD, it means your HDD is damaged. Reset your CMOS by removing the battery of your CMOS for six minutes or more. Removing the CMOS battery will reset all CMOS settings. Put back the CMOS battery. You can try another procedure of resetting CMOS by using the jumper on your motherboard. Before you use this method, look for your motherboard guide book for references or try asking for someone who’s familiar with it. I hope this guide helps you and Good luck.

Hi,

How old is your PC? Did you already check the temperature of your processor? It might be one of the reasons why your computer hangs up during booting. If this is true then all you have to do is remove all the dirt that builds up especially in the exhaust fan,

And also remove the exhaust Fan, to its socket and clean the bottom part of the metal part (Heat sink) and also clean the top of the processor with some cleaning rag, after that put some enough amount to the processor and return back the exhaust fan to its socket.

Now try to boot up your PC and observe your PC if it’s still hanging up. Hope this can help.

Hello Dear,

Thanks that you have shared your problem with us. Dear it seems that your motherboard has a problem. Remove the case and see your motherboard deeply. Check if any capacitor is burnt. Some times capacitors became burnt or very week that some liquid flows from there. Kindly check if you find any, replace them. If you do not find any one then check your power supply also.
 
You will find the problem and can easily resolve it.
