What I want to know is that how can I lock my Flash Drive. I want to password protect it, so that my personal data remains private.
Is there any way to do it? Any guidance and help will be appreciated.
Yes, you can do it easily in Windows 7. If you are using Windows 7 Home Premium then, it's not possible because Win 7 Home Premium doesn't provide BitLocker.
Bit locker is a tool that encrypts a drive with a password so that you can secure your data.
Go to My Computer,
Right click the drive you want to lock with bitlocker and then, a new window will appear.
Make sure that your drive have some free space available for bit locker processing.
The wizard will guide you with the rest of the process.
After protecting your flash, whenever you want to use flash on any other computer, you will have to provide a password. BitLocker also provides password recovery option. During BitLocker encryption, it generates a key file. Save it in a secure place so that, if you forgot your password, then, through this, you can recover it.

You can lock your USB pen drive by encrypting it.
If you are using Windows 7 Ultimate or Windows 7 Enterprise edition you can use, Bitlocker application to encrypt your data on a USB stick. Just plug your pen drive and right click it.
