Hi! Guys,

I have a problem connecting my cell phone using PC Suite.

My phone is no longer been recognize by PC Suite and therefore I cut the error message and pasted below to highlight my post.

Ovi Suite/PC Suite does not support the connected phone
Ovi Suite/PC Suite does not support the connected phone. Ovi Suite/PC Suite settings files is missing from the phone.
Switch off your phone, switch it on, and try again.

When I read on the error, I am wondering why PC Suite can no longer recognize my phone, ever since I have use this phone on same PC Suite, I removed and re installed PC Suite and run again but still cannot recognize my cell phone.

I already turn ON and OFF my cell phone in order to follow on what is stated in the error message, but still same problem persists. Please help me solve this issue, as I have already consumed a lot of my time solving this issue.

This is a known issue for the Nokia mobile phone. While connecting to the computer machine using the application software provided by the Nokia, will be used to transfer the data between the Nokia mobile phone and the computer machine.

Some times you may get the error “Ovi Suite/PC Suite does not support the connected phone.

Ovi Suite/PC Suite settings files is missing from the phone. Switch off your phone, switch it on, and try again”. That means, you have lost the system data installed via Nokia PC which makes the interaction between Nokia mobile and computer machine is crashed or deleted, hence instead restoring the file in the installation path, better to reinstall it.

It is about 1 minute process.

Hello,

Correct me if I'm wrong. The PC Suite you are using is 6.7, right? If that is so, downgrade your PC Suite to 6.6 version.

PC Suite version 6.7 has this common error among the users. Just stick to version 6.6, and you would be free from this problem.

If you do like to use PC Suite 6.7, you can bring your phone at the nearest Nokia customer center, and have it seen and tested by them. The error might be caused by a damage data/file that is causing this problem.

Nokia might suggest of re-installing the phone's software, in that case.

At first I thought it was really with your handset. But when I saw the screenshot of the error message I learned that it is not really with your handset. Because when the computer generally doesn’t recognize a device when you insert it on the USB port, the error is displayed in a pop up message in the system tray saying that the USB device was not recognized. See image.

This error only appears if there is a problem with the device you inserted and only happens mostly on USB flash drives that are generic. This seldom happens on mobile phones when you insert it on the USB port of the computer because it literally needs a program for the computer to be able to recognize it.

And since your Nokia Ovi Suite is already not working properly then this is surely the cause of the problem. To try fixing it, download first the latest version of the suite from Nokia Ovi Suite. After downloading it, uninstall Nokia Ovi Suite from your computer and then restart your system.

After booting go to “C:Program Files” and then delete the Nokia folder or the installation folder of the Nokia Ovi Suite. If the Nokia folder is already not there install the latest version you just downloaded. Go to the folder where you saved the downloaded Nokia Ovi Suite installer and then double-click the file. Follow the succeeding instructions and then wait for it to finish.

Restart your computer after the installation. Open Nokia Ovi Suite and then connect your handset to the computer. This version works on Windows XP Service Pack 2, Windows Vista, and Windows 7. If you are using Windows XP, you need to install Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 or higher to make the program work.
