I need help on my HP Pavilion G7 laptop. It comes with Windows 7 and I am having issues on its wireless connection. At times, it is working properly and then disconnects without warnings or errors. I already checked on my internet provider and they said, there is no problem with them. How can I fix this?

If you already tried to check on your provider and there is no problem with them, then it is certain that the problem is in your computer's settings.

  • Try to update the wireless driver on the Recovery Manager window. To do this:

1. Click Start and then type Recovery on the search area.

2. Click the Recovery Manager from the search list.

3. Click Drivers and Application Reinstall.

4. Select your WLAN wireless driver from the list and then click the Install option on the lower right side of the Recovery Manager window. Do this while the connection is on.

  • You may also want to restart your modem, your router and your computer to establish the correct IP address. To do this, just shut down your computer and then unplug the router and the modem. Wait for few minutes and then reconnect the router and modem and re-establish a connection. Turn your computer again and see if you will still have the same problem.
  • Ensure that the network device is enabled.
