Hey guys, I have been using Vista for almost a year now and did not come across any problem. Just few days back, my system failed to load the Vista welcome screen. After that, I got the following error:
“An unauthorized change was made to Windows.
You will no longer receive notifications, including those about your license or activation. Use the link below to find out how to fix your system.
Error: 0xC004D401
Description:
The security processor reported a system file mismatch error.”
I have tried deleting all software except the ones which were on the PC when I bought it, but this measure does not seem to have brought about any changes. Please advice as to what I should do about this.

Dear friend are you using genuine Vista O/S ?
Sometimes, if you are using an illegal version of Window, this error can happened. Or it sometimes occurs when you try to update such version. It is always advisable to use a genuine copy of Windows to be able to get rid of all the errors and issues. You can purchase a genuine Windows on Microsoft website.

It might be caused by a virus, you should try to have a System Restore at some point. If it doesn’t work, check if your copy of Vista installed is genuine. This could be the cause of the error. If it not genuine, then purchase an original one. Or maybe your PC is running in a trial period where you are required to enter an activation code before its expiration and you failed to do so.
