A friend told me I need to do a system restore before I install the driver. Is this necessary? The last time I did a system restore I wasn’t able to do it quite right it messed up some programs instead

Is to uninstall the software of the old one. Then reboot your computer to refresh your system unit. After that you can now use the new one.
