Hello There! I have a two Win7 Pro Desktop in different physical locations and networks.  I would like to be able to virtually connect them using a software based VPN.  I have settled on SoftEther VPN since it seems to meet my needs well.   Can someone guide me on how to do this?

Hi,
SoftEther seems a good choice to connect your two computers using VPN. However, SoftEther is a very powerful software which provides many connecting options.
If you only want to connect two PC's, using the Ad-hoc VPN option is better for you. You can also use 'Remote access to LAN' option which lets you connect to your computer outside your home.
I can provide you step by step guide, but before that I have to know which option you need or you have chosen to imply. You can check this link to get a broader understanding.
