I have been trying to upgrade my iPad to iOS 5, and I have been trying for almost an hour but I always failed due to the unknown error 3002. The iPad is in iOS 4.2. I was installing the upgrade through iTunes 10.5.3.

How can I fix it?

iTunes

The iPad “iPad” could not be updated. An unknown error occurred (3002).

Hi lala ruiz.

Here is a simple but sure solution to your problem. But before we start please make sure you have removed any blocks for gs.apple.com.

Now here are the steps

1. Make sure that you have an Itunes.10.5 installed. If you don’t have one just download it on the site the I will be giving.   * http://osxdaily.com/2011/10/11/itunes-10-5-out-download/ *

2. Download specific devices for iOs 5 IPSW. Save it anywhere you like but easy to find.

Here is the link for the devices:

http://osxdaily.com/2011/10/12/ios-5-download-available/

3. Run iTunes 10.5  then…

•For MAC users: Hold the Option key and choose restore then locate the IPSW file.
•For Windows users: Press and hold the Shift key and then choose restore.

Good luck and Contact me for any further question.
