Unable to connect to ICQ login server.

Hello,

I have just installed the latest version of Miranda. There were no problems during the installation.

I have installed it in default options. But when I try to change my icq status to "online" I receive error message "unable to connect icq login server. The server to which you are trying to connect does not exist. Check your spelling in options – network – icq (error 11001)"

I checked the options, but I really have no idea what to change:

Login server – login.icq.com

Port – 5190

I am not an IT specialist, and I do not know what does that mean, and the more so I do not know to what I need to be changed in the option. Any advice?

Hi there Tamarajparnell,

This could happen because of a several reasons.

First, and most likely is that the server you're trying to connect to is temporarily unavailable. If this is the case, it will soon be back up and running and you have nothing to worry about.

It could also be a problem with ports and / or SSL connection to the server. Try disabling SSL in your Miranda preferences and see if that will work. Also, you can try switching to the port 444 as the temporary solution of the problem.
