Trouble installing the interactive Hyperion plug-in for BAIRS

Hello all,

I’m having trouble installing the interactive Hyperion plug-in for BAIRS and would like to know if this seems familiar to anyone else. The following message is appearing:

 “An error (-5004 : 0x80070005) has occurred while running the setup.

Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications”

IE8 is being used on win 7. The same error occurs when being used on the campus account, campus administrator account and the local account.

All help will be warmly welcomed.

This error code has something to do with the user privilege. You need to set up this on the registry. So please follow the steps.

  1. Click Start, then type “regedit” with quotations.
  2. Then right click HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE then click permissions.
  3. Click Group or username that you are using to install the program then click all check boxes under allow permissions. This will give you full access to registry.

You might need to check also some other user permissions when installing software under control panel. You might also try to log on as administrator or run the set up as administrator.
