i was using CDBurnerXP in burning files to cd, first time trying with it I meet an error.

Error;

Writing Error: (3) Error occurred writing data to disc.

Unknown error – use extended data for more information (1051)

Error Sense Data: SENSE KEY: 3 ASC: 64 ASCQ: C0

I was wondering this error come from? Is this because of installing the CDBurnerXP or was it the CD? I just need a second copy or a back up copy of my data by burning it to a cd.

Your problem happens because the software cannot detect properly what type of CD you use or maybe to a power calibration area error. Here are options that may help you;

Reduce the writing speed from 48x-32x to about 16x-10x.

Install different kind of software and try to use it, for an instance the ImgBurn. Download it from it's website; http://www.imgburn.com/

Use different brands of CD's

Update your firmware with the latest version.

Change recorders power supply cables, please do avoid sharing of power supply with devices inside the computer and CD recorder

Switch from primary slave to secondary master and mark it.

Hope this can help you.
