Synchronizing calendar caused iCal error message

Hello!

I hope somebody can help me to solve this…it’s probably really easy but I can’t solveit. I try to sync up my gmail calendar with iCal but I am facing the following server error message:

"The Server responded with an error
The request for account “[email protected]” failed.

The server responded with
“HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized”
to operation CalDAVAccountRefreshQueueableOperation."

Then I pressed OK and the server error message showed again. Click OK and iCal quits. Then back to the starting. I have pulled iCal from my finder into scrap and installed again from my Mac Operating System X Install DVD with possible Installs, but the same problem happens.

Need your help. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Synchronizing calendar caused iCal error message

Hello!!

What you probably don’t know is that currently, every DELETE request from iCal on MacOS is met by a 302 error from Google

After the first error what happens is that iCal 4 stops executing all sync requests, therefore any changes after this will not be synced with Google calendar if at least one event has been deleted from iCal. iCal 5.0.1 will not execute DELETE requests, but it will execute all other requests.

Unfortunately, at the moment Google can't accept DELETE requests from iCal until Apple finds and fixes underlying issue. If they did so it would open a Pandora’s Box of lost data that would affect hundreds of thousands of users.

As a workaround, it is suggested that you delete events from the web version of calendar at:  Also, sync requests coming from IOS devices work properly. For future use carry out the following:

File > export > ical archive. Command in ical so as to save backups of your data. And if you are running Time machine – you could attempt to bring back the ical data.
