Hello,

I have a microsoft office word 2003 file but I have office 2007 installed and I cannot open this file. I am in some serious predicament since it is related to my project. Is there a way to transform or open this 2003 file with 2007. Since I cannot open it I cannot copy it either. Please some one give me some ides so that I can proceed with my project.

Hey Wendell!

Sometimes it happens that your most important documents are in the .docx, whereas your system has Microsoft office 2003 that only open .doc file.

Microsoft office cannot open .docx file unless you do not have a Microsoft office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint File format.

With the help of it you can open .docx file in Microsoft Word 2003. and can save it in .doc file.

You can download this Pack from the link here:

Just click the download button and get rid of your problem.

I hope that it will work.

Thanks

Wendell,

There is a step by step process that you can use to open your 2003 document in 2007.  First we need to get into your Windows Registry, you can do this by going to "Run" and entering "Regedit".  Next you will need to find "HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Microsoft Office 12.0 Word Security".  Now you'll need to create a new folder "fileafterconversion" and then create a new key "DWORD" value, something like "file beforeversion" and give it a value of 0.
