Our office has four networked computers. We use a shared printer connected to one of the computers.

Printing is very slow and sometimes fails alto gather.

We  do the printing after restarting the main computer which means we have delays in our printing jobs.

Our technician has failed to Solve this problem and on my part  i feel it has do with a faulty network.

A lot of troubleshooting is needed as we must know the exact reason why the issue incurs. Try to uninstall your printer driver installed on the main computer and then re-install it again. If this doesn't work, update your driver by going to the manufacturer's website and see if there is an available update on your printer model. Also, check the cartridges if it is faulty. You can do this if you take the cartridge from the printer and insert it to another computer and see it if will work regularly on the usual speed or if you will still encounter the same issue. Another workaround that you can try is to disable your firewall. It might be blocking something that is causing the issue to occur. On some printer, there is a port mapper that you may need to open to share your printer even if it is closed by default.

Hi there,

I experience a similar problem. In my office too, there is a shared printer for five computers. We have been using it for a while and it never failed to work. But from last week onwards, the printer began to show some problems. Like Mr. Marprill’s printer, our printer began to work very slowly and sometimes crashes too. None of us could find a solution for the problem which is affecting our small enterprise very badly.

We all have been looking for solutions online and I chose to look at techyv.com as it had helped me in the past too. And once again, techyv.com helps me! Thanks to techyv.com and to the expert, Mr. Plofino Abu for the help. Thank you very much.
