My PC stopped responding when I click anything

Hi everybody,

I am using Asus Eee PC 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 10" LCD Laptop with Windows 7 installed in it.

It was working fine so far, but from last week it stopped working. After starting the system, the cursor and desktop icons are all there. But whenever I click or select anything it stops responding. Even if I press ctrl+alt+delete it restarts but no use. I have tried different ways, but nothing works. Even in safe mode same issue is coming. I feel that it might be a problem with the virus but to scan the system I couldn't even open the McAfee antivirus installed in my PC.

Can somebody help me out here? Thanks in advance!

Right click on the volume of your hard drive and go to properties. Choose option 'Check hard disk for errors' as well as 'Fix errors that it founds' from the same Window and execute the operation. Alternatively, you can also choose to repair your computer by using Startup Repair option.

Please revert if none of them works in your case.
