Microsoft Word for Windows has stopped working” after saving a document

Can someone help me figure out why I get a message stating “Microsoft Word for Windows has stopped working” after saving a document?

My computer is running on windows 7 Professional 64bit. Recently I had to reinstall Windows 7 as I had reformatted the system, before this I had absolutely no such problem with the original install of Windows.

When running Microsoft Word 2000, editing and saving of a document is no problem but it is after saving that a file, problem above arises.

There are a number of things I have done to try and resolve the error above which include configuring the compatibility settings to a number of previous versions. I have also allowed Windows search for a solution to this problem but all these effort has yielded no results.

Hallo Rosswell,

It seems like your ms office 2007 application that you are using is corrupt. The registry files may be missing because you have deleted them by mistake or they have been corrupt by a virus.

I will suggest that you uninstall it and do a clean installation of the same. Before you do the clean installation I will advice that you clean up the system so as to remove all the broken registries and unused files using a program called ccleaner which you can download for free from the internet.

Hope this helps.

I suggest that reinstalling the application will do for you may have an error MS application. Do some clean-ups in your pc before reinstalling to make sure that everything is set up for reinstallation.

I also suggest that, when saving your word documents, try not to save successive files for it might cause your pc to hang up.

Hello Roswell,

I think that you have save the documents simultaneously or might be saved then you switch to another window.

This is a common cause if you pc has a low speed or virtual memory.

You can save your finished documents one at a time if you are having an old pc that turns to be out model.

Try to see this page if you want to have a more detailed explanation.
