Hi there,

Maxthon gives me error when I want to open it on my Windows 7 (x64). I have this error after I did the updates to my Windows and it worked fine before. Now I can’t solve this error and I tried some tricks that a friend told me. Does anyone can tell me how can I solve this puzzle?

Thanks!

I’m not sure why you are getting this because supposedly the Maxthon web browser supports all versions of Microsoft Windows be it x86 or x64. If you recently did some update on your computer then the installation from Windows Update must have damaged the configuration of the browser. Try fixing it by reinstalling the browser.

Uninstall Maxthon then click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools, and click Disk Cleanup. Select drive C and click OK. Check “Temporary files” and click OK. Click Delete Files and wait until it is finished and then restart the computer. Install Maxthon again then see if it works. Also, try running the browser as administrator.

After installing it, right-click on the browser’s icon and select Properties. Select Compatibility tab and check “Run this program as an administrator” and click OK. Open Maxthon again and see if this fixes it. Another possible reason for this error is an outdated version. Since you are using x64 Microsoft Windows 7, it would be best to use the latest version. You can download the latest from Maxthon Cloud Browser 4.3.2.1000.
