Random crashes – Unknown Software Exception Error Maple Story I recently installed Maplestory on my new Windows 8 computer after having not played since early this year. I keep getting a crash to desktop around 5-15 minutes into playing. I have no idea what’s causing it but it gives an error message which says.

Sometimes this game executable can do this sort of random crashing because they are not run with sufficient administrator privileges. So first try to play it, by right-click and 'Run as Administrator' option. If you can play it without interruption, then you can set 'Run as Administrator' for this game by 'right-click – > properties – > compatibility' and check box 'Run as Administrator' and click ok, and you are free to enjoy the game.
