Nokia Software Updater failed on Windows 7(64)

Hi,

I am running Windows 7(64) and downloaded installer (30-june-2010) – it's supposedly Win 7 compatible? Properties say: File version 2.2.28.0. I have tried running in compatibility mode (Vista SP2) – tried disabling antivirus (Avast) – and doing a 'run as administrator'. None of these worked, all resulted in installer failing with the error message. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hello Henry

In order for you to solve your problem, please try the following.

Go To Control Panel-> Uninstall a Program. Locate Nokia Software, and uninstall. Restart the computer.

After this, please download and install Microsoft .NET Framework 4. Some programs require this program installed, in order for them to run at full capacity. Access Microsoft.NET and download the software.

Also, make sure you have installed Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package. If you do not have it, download it from here. Visual C++ 2010.

After everything is Installed, download and install the Nokia Software Update, but remember, when installing, please Right Click on the installer, and choose Run as an Administrator.

I hope you will find this information useful.

Randolph
