MAGIX Movie Edit Pro is returning an error whenever I open it. The advice to reinstall it hasn’t worked and am stuck not knowing what to do next. Any suggestions?
The program could not be started. Its possible that the installation folder id damaged

One thing in your explanation jumps out at me; the detail you have "tried unsuccessfully to get the plugins to work". That, & the warning about reinstalling, strongly advises a faulty installation. Also I have an MEP MX Premium (Download version) & do not have any of these difficulties. So, I recommend you first do the Repair/Reinstall; run the downloaded .exe file & it would ask you whether you need to Uninstall or Repair your installation. Clearly, pick Repair.
That MIGHT work. Even if the program questions for this you can easily re-activate; assuming you have not tried to repair/reinstall previously, re-activation is perfectly possible. In some cases I have wanted to re-activate MAGIX products 3 & 4 times, without problem.
However, the coolest way to resolving your problem might fine be an entire uninstall (I always recommend using Revo Uninstaller because uninstalling via Windows Control Panel or the MEP .exe file does not eliminate everything) & then reinstall the program, extras etc., as well as re-activate. It is a bother having to do all this but, on several occasions with various MAGIX products, I have got it resolved all prior problems.
If, maybe, you have installed/activated MEP MX numerous times already you may need to contact MAGIX SALES & ask them to reset your information on their activation server.
