I am using the latest version of Google Chrome. The problem I am facing from past few days is that, chrome doesn't open most of the sites I tried to open. When I tried to open Facebook or Twitter, it works perfectly. But when it comes to some other sites like docs.oracle.com, stackoverflow, elance etc. it shows the error, "The Web Page not available". The error code is DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN. Please give some valuable suggestions to handle the problem.

Hello,

How are you?

This seems to be a DNS issue. You can resolve the issue in Windows 7 or Windows 8 in the below way.

Windows 7

  1. Go to start.
  2. Type “services.msc”, please do not use quotes and look for DNS Client.
  3. Right click on DNS Client and click restart.
  4. Once the restart happens, restart Chrome.

Windows 8

Need to restart the DNS client here as well, however, via below path.

  1. Use mouse cursor to move to the “extreme right or bottom of the screen” or use “Windows key + C”.
  2. Then click the search logo and type “services.msc” here, again without quotes.
  3. Restart the DNS Client.

Your problem should be resolved.
