Hi Adriel,

There can be a couple of reasons why you are getting this error. Before checking for the other “might be” problems, kindly check your Chrome’s version. You see there is a known issue with the “missing plug-in error” when you update your Chrome to version 16.0. Click on the Wrench menu then About Google Chrome. Simply update if it’s still showing version 16.0. This issue was resolved for version 16.0.912.75 and above.

If this doesn’t work, then the most common culprit is your Flash Player plug-in. Try these few steps:

1.       Type in the address bar chrome://plugins/ – this should lead you to the plug-in page.

2.       Disable your Flash or Shockwave Flash plug-in.

3.       Open the Google chrome task manager by pressing shift-esc.

4.       Look for Shockwave Flash plug-in and click “End process”. Chose the Google Chrome Task Manager.

5.       Go back to the plug-in page (when you did step no.1) and click on “Enable” for Flash.

6.       You should be able to see videos in YouTube after refreshing.

If this still doesn’t work, you may need to update your Flash player.

1.       Type in the address bar chrome://plugins/ – this should lead you to the plug-in page.

2.       Disable your Flash or Shockwave Flash plug-in.

3.       Close all your browsers and install an updated version of flash. You may visit this link: http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/debug_downloads.html

4.       Open Google chrome and go to plug-in page and “enable” Flash Player back on.

Hope this helps.

If your Google Chrome web browser is throwing you a “missing plug-in” error when you visit video streaming sites like YouTube, that error message points to the Flash Player plug-in. This also means that you haven’t installed the plug-in yet. The Flash Player plug-in is required when you visit sites that have Flash-based contents.

To fix the problem, just download the Flash Player plug-in and install it so your browser can use it to play Flash-based contents:

This should fix the problem.
