I have a desktop that has a 40x12x48x LiteOnIt DVD Drive.  Is there an option or setting on how to reduce DVD speed?  Playing and burning DVD's create a lot of noise because of the high speed which is kind of annoying.  Any tips?

Hi Jolene.

To reduce the noise from your DVD you need to turn on Silent Mode in the Power Options menu. You can also do this in BIOS. To enter BIOS you need to press F2/F8/F12 or DEL button (one of those, depending on your motherboard) and find the option. But since you are not an expert I do not recommend doing this.

Careful because this might reduce the performance of your DVD drive, as it lowers the RPM (Rounds per minute) of the drive.
