Hey Cullen centeno!

If you do not anyone to use your wireless internet via WiFi, then you must set a password for your wireless router.

For this purpose you have to go to the IP page of the router. Enter the IP Address of the router in the browser and press enter. Mostly Default IP for routers is 192.168.1.1. To check your IP Address you have to check under your wireless router. Once the IP page is opened, then there will be a menu of Wireless Security, open and you will see Security Disabled. Select WEP, PSK Key and type your password in the field.

Now restart your router. Your router is now password protected.

No one cane use your wireless router.

Thanks

There are several ways on how you can protect your wireless internet connection, let me share some of it for you.

First of all you need to turn off your SSID- or your Service Set Identifier it is a broadcast message notifying every device within range of your network presence its basically announcing that your online, and all wireless router have the option to turn off your SSID

Second you need to change your default setting on your routers web based administration,it means use a strong admin username and password.

Third you need to secure your wireless router with strongest possible encrytion. And lastly restrict access or you need to enable MAC address filtering this will secure your wireless network from unknown computer.

Place the wireless access point away from the window and near the center of the house to decrease the signal strength.

Some tips for secure wireless connection:

1. Connect to your router via your browser, by imputing something called a Gateway IP address.

2. Enable encryption on your access point.

3. Set the router access password.

4. Change the SSID.

5. Enable MAC address filtering.

6. Disable remote login.

7. Disable wireless administrating.

This can solve your problem.
