Hi Experts,

I need help to prevent my data to be damaged. Please tell me how to remove bad sectors on flash drive. These bad sectors are spoiling my valuable data.

I think you have to reformat your computer flash drive.

First Insert the drive and go to start menu > Then right click the flash drive > select format.
Format menu > select max capacity > default file system > default allocation size.
 
 WARNING   \\\"DO NOT select the quick format box\\\"
 
Click start.
It should reformat your drive back to when it was new.
 
Another option is 
1. Click on drive properties
2. Tools tab 
3. Auto fix and attempt recovery of bad sectors. 
This may repair the drive or not. The only way to find out is to try.

Dear User,

First please keep in mind that the Flash drive or USB pen drive has no problem of bad sectors.

Flash drive or Pen drive can have only bad clusters. Bad clusters are the bad points in file system.

It is so much easy to solve this problem.

Attach your USB drive to your computer.

Open My Computer, right click on USB drive and choose property.

In property window, click on tools and choose “Scan for Bad Sectors” it will run a scan operation.

Other method is this, click on RUN and type “cmd” then get into Flash drive and type these commands.

/>chkdsk utility

It will run a scan to repair bad clusters.

Now you are safe from this problem.
