Hello Kevin,

This is an ongoing issue. There are a lot of Locked HDD Solution Software that you could try, but I think more often than not, with all the issues that you'll go through, your best bet is to buy a new one.

It would have been better if we know the specifications of system you have. For example, how big is the hard drive? What's the make and model of the PC? If you haven't tried the following workaround, you may want to check on it.

1. Power on the PC and press F2.

2. Go to BIOS Setup Menu and select Hard Drive Priority.

3. Boot Hard Drive should be on the top of the list.

4. Make sure to select Disable Hard Drive Auto-lock in BIOS System.

5. Save and exit.

Hi there,

Actually you cannot delete a locked HDD. You can just Locked or unlocked it. I think it is just for the lower version of Microsoft for the Windows 98 and Windows 95.

To unlock a Hard Disk Drive:

Just go to MS-DOS and type “LOCK [drive:]” or UNLOCK [drive:]

That’s all.

Hope this works. J
