How can I turn off auto-populate?

I share a laptop with my roommate, and we want to turn off auto-populate because we are getting each other's information populated info forms, etc. I know we can go in and erase cookies, but is there any way to turn if off completely? We are trying to keep it clean for each other. Thank you.

Actually, turning off the auto populate feature can be easily done by changing the settings of the particular internet browser that you are using. If it is Chrome, follow these steps in order,

  • Open Chrome browser
  • Click on Chrome customize menu Chrome menu which is present in the browser toolbar.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Select the option "Show advanced settings"
  • Passwords and forms
  • Uncheck the check box named "Enable Autofill to fill out web forms in a single click"
  • OK
