I am upgrading MS Exchange 2003 server to Exchange 2010. I had an idea to create another server and install the MS Exchange 2010 on it and then simply migrate everything such as email, settings, etc., from the old MS Exchange 2003 to the newly installed Exchange 2010. However, several errors came up during the installation and I need help in fixing those errors. I will show you more about the errors through TeamViewer. Just let me know. Please help.

Errors on Upgrading Exchange Server 2003 to 2010

my best advice from my research is that you can not perform an in-place upgrade from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010.But you can install an Exchange 2010 server into the existing Exchange organization, and then move the Exchange resources, such as mailboxes, public folders, and connectors to Exchange 2010, your organization will be running in a coexistence mode. You can maintain this mode for an indefinite period of time, or you can immediately complete the upgrade to Exchange 2010 by moving all resources from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010, and then decommissioning the Exchange 2003 servers.

After installing Exchange 2010 in an existing Exchange 2003 organization, Setup performs the following coexistence-specific tasks:

1.Creates the Active Directory universal security group ExchangeLegacyInterop. This group is granted the permissions that allow the Exchange 2003 servers to send e-mail messages to the Exchange 2010 servers.

2. Creates a two-way routing group connector between Exchange 2010 and a selected Exchange 2003 bridgehead server. Exchange 2010 and Exchange 2003 use different routing topologies. You must configure a routing group connector to enable mail flow between the Exchange versions.
