Error on scanning: scanning Flow Component has encountered a problem

Hello,

My scanner on the F2280, has been working fine until last week, when it stopped working and a message came up 'HP CUE – scanning Flow Component has encountered a problem and needs to close.'

I have tried scanning, by pressing the scan button on the printer itself and also by going into the HP solution center. Both resulted in the error message. The copier function and printer work fine. I have not loaded any new software or done anything that might have caused the problem – any ideas?

Thank you.

Hi Katherine,

The problem might be in the driver of your device. Sometimes, a software installation or a small glitch on the hard drive can corrupt the files on your computer, including the driver of your printer/scanner.

To fix this, download a new set of drivers for HP Deskjet F2280 All-in-One from HP official website.

Before you install the new downloaded driver, don't forget to uninstall the old one. So,

  • Go to Control Panel
  • Choose "System"
  • On the left panel, click "Device Manager"
  • Find your printer, right click on it and choose Uninstall.

After this, restart your system. Then you can install the driver you have just downloaded from the previous steps.

Goodluck:)
