ERROR INVALID HANDLE STATE 1609 The handle is in an invalid state.

Hello everyone. I was trying to restore my PC, all is well until it reached 99% of the process. I got an error #1609 code “lost cluster 1312305 – 1312305” followed by “error #983 Too many errors Process halted”. I looked for the definition of the error code and it is ERROR_INVALID_HANDLE_STATE 1609 Handle is in an invalid state.

The hard disk is in good condition. It is in a low format and then formatted it in Linux, and then back to NTFS. Everything has been carefully confirmed and is OK. I used another good copy to restore it with the same bad result. On the other hand, if I install XP from the genuine MS single CD, it works well.

It seemed that the restoration of an image is difficult, but the simple installation is working. Is this a boot viral attack? Anyone heard about this or knows this? I need a solution.

Thanks in advance.

Hello Green,

To resolve the issue that you are getting, you will need to do the following:

  • First, you will need to disconnect the HASP keys, and the use the control panel and DELETE everything referring to Sentinel in the USB.
  • After that you will disconnect the HASP Keys, and then disable your internet access.
  • You will need to run from a DOS command prompt (as administrator) the following: setuphotlinehasphaspdinst.exe
  • And then run haspdinst.exe /info.
  • Make sure that the package has been installed and then restart your computer.
  • You can now connect ALL your Hasp Keys but  ensure that you are NOT connected to the INTERNET.

Regards,

Nicke
