Yesterday, I uninstalled Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery due to compatibility issue with other program. And this is not easy since Windows is not allowing me to uninstall it. When I try to re-install Symantec BESR, and finished all the installation and copying setup, I restarted my computer. When it opens, I was in the continuation of the installation setup window, I received an error. I posted the screenshot of the error I am receiving. Please kindly help me in resolving this issue.

Hi Rose,

Here are the following steps which can help you solve your issue:

  1. Uninstall Backup Exec System Recovery through Add & Remove Programs
  2.  Update the firmware and drivers use for all mass-storage controllers on the system that is reporting the error; even if the drives on a specific controller is not going to be a part of the backup process.

  3.

    Temporarily disconnect any non-internally attached drives (i.e. SAS’s, LUN’s, 1394, USB, etc.)

Temporarily uninstall all filter driver base-applications that monitor or perform maintenance tasks to the remaining drives (i.e. Defragmentation, AV, Security, etc.)

    I hope it helps,

    Zorian
