What will happen to the documents when deleting the OpenOffice.org from my Mac computer?

I am using ‘Pages’ which I like to use. I have downloaded the OpenOffice.org. All the documents which I have created on Pages, when opening again, it is opening with the ‘Open Office’ without opening in ‘Pages’. I have no idea why this is happening. I need to avoid the ‘Open Office’ and I am worried about my documents. Please help me to get out of the ‘open Office’ without losing documents.

Hi Henry,

It may be that the Pages application you are referring to was setup in a manner to open it in Office instead of Pages. You might want to try to go to the properties of one of you Pages, then choose the application you have been using before as the default application instead of openoffice.org.

If you delete the application openoffice.org on your computer and you do not have a separate Microsoft office application installed, you would not be able to open any files related to word or excel or the likes. As it needs those application to have it opened.
