Hi there,

I try to install the Configuration Manager 2012 console on a workstation with an existent Configuration Manager 2007 console you will have the following error message. I would like to have the both versions and I don’t know how to make it works. Can anyone help me to fix this error? Is possible to have two versions of System Center?

Thanks guys!

Hello,

This critical and painful error can be solved easily by following these steps:

1. Uninstall ConfigMgr 2007 console and install 2012 one.

2. If you’re willing to keep both consoles, you have to go to ConfigMgr 2012 media from “SMSSETUPBINi386” and execute “consolesetup.exe” or “AdminConsole.msi”.

Don’t forget to insert the FQDN of the ConfigMgr 2012 box.

Now, you’ll have both options to utilize. Do whatever you wish but no more error will come out to disturb you.
