I have a problem with my iPod shuffle. I can't mount it in Ubuntu 11.10. I plug it into the USB port, but it doesn't recognize it. I can't find the mount directories. I installed Rhythmbox, but it doesn't recognize it either. I checked /mnt, there are no files. I don't know what else to do. Any ideas? Thanks for your help
Your problem can be resolved by changing the ports of the computer. Connect the iPod on different ports. If it doesn’t work then follow the instructions.
Make sure your data cable is it ok. Try another data cable if available.
You should Install the “Apple Device service” on your computer and start the service. You might be unable to connect Apple device with the computer if you haven't started the service.
If the service gets started, then keep connecting the iPod and restart your computer.
Now open the “iTunes” and it will definitely show iPod connected. If the problem still exists, then restart your Apple device and shuffle a couple of times.
